Reason for Boycott
Founded in the Netherlands in 1938 and having grown into a global player in the wood and construction adhesives market, Bison was fully acquired by the Italian multinational Bolton Group in 1996 and integrated into its "Bolton Adhesives" division. The reality that traps the brand on the red list is that all of Bison's global sales revenues pool into the treasury of the privately held Bolton Group, which is solely owned by the Nissim family. The founder of Bolton Group, Joseph Nissim, and its current chairwoman, Marina Nissim, utilize this massive commercial profit to directly fund the official research and development infrastructure of the State of Israel. The most concrete evidence of this financial flow is the "Jeanne and Joseph Nissim Center for Life Sciences Research", a facility established directly with the family's funds within the Weizmann Institute of Science in Rehovot, Israel—an institution conducting strategic scientific research for the regime. When a consumer purchases a Bison Montagekit or epoxy from a hardware store, the money goes directly into the Bolton Adhesives treasury in Italy, and from there, through the Nissim family's philanthropic network, straight into the accounts of scientific/institutional centers in Israel. Due to this direct, clear, and continuous financial support to Israeli state institutions, the brand is under Strict Boycott.
