Reason for Boycott
Tazı is an electric scooter and bicycle rental service operated by Türkiye-based Yapıdrom Teknoloji A.Ş. Yapıdrom develops smart bicycle, scooter, parking and urban-transportation systems. No verified evidence was found showing that the company supplies weapons, vehicles, surveillance technology or logistical support to Israel, China, India, Myanmar, Russia or another oppressive state apparatus. No verified activity was identified involving Palestine, East Turkestan, Kashmir, Arakan, Syria, Yemen, Sudan, illegal settlements or state-propaganda sponsorship. Tazı therefore does not meet the criteria for Strict Boycott. However, Tazı uses Masterpass, Mastercard’s digital card-storage and payment infrastructure. This does not make Tazı a Mastercard subsidiary or prove direct complicity, but it creates dependence on a disputed global payment provider. Tazı also does not publicly identify the suppliers of its scooters, bicycles, battery cells, motors and electronic components. Supplier-level risks involving forced labor in East Turkestan, child labor and conflict minerals from Africa therefore cannot be independently excluded. Local ownership is positive, but Masterpass dependence and limited ownership and supply-chain transparency justify classification as Conscience-Based / Discretionary.
