Reason for Boycott
Tıkla Gelsin is legally operated by Ata Express, but it functions as an integrated ordering, payment, promotion and delivery platform within the same Ata Holding ecosystem as TAB Gıda. A central function of the platform is to increase sales for foreign-licensed restaurant brands operated by TAB Gıda, including Burger King, Popeyes, Arby’s, Sbarro and Subway. Tıkla Gelsin does not merely list these brands as an independent marketplace. It provides brand-specific menus, discounts, loyalty benefits, advertising, digital-wallet services, payments and delivery infrastructure. Burger King Türkiye officially identifies TAB Gıda as the exclusive Turkish license holder, restaurant operator and development partner, while naming Tıkla Gelsin as an authorized ordering channel. This constitutes continuing and integrated commercial support rather than incidental third-party retail access. Burger King’s Israeli franchise publicly provided thousands of free meals to Israeli soldiers in October 2023, constituting material and logistical support. That action was not carried out directly by TAB Gıda or Tıkla Gelsin, but Tıkla Gelsin actively expands the licensed Turkish ecosystem of the same global brand. Burger King and Popeyes are globally owned by Restaurant Brands International, and the operation of these foreign trademarks creates a contractual relationship with the global franchise and trademark economy. Tıkla Gelsin also conducts campaigns involving Masterpass, Mastercard’s digital payment and card-storage infrastructure. Considering the platform’s systematic market, promotional, payment and delivery support for implicated global brand networks, its foreign-licensing exposure and its role in expanding their commercial reach, Tıkla Gelsin should be classified as Strict Boycott under the stated criteria.
