Reason for Boycott
While it is entirely possible to maintain a local and ethical supply chain even during the production of a standard fleece jacket or a custom embroidered/printed t-shirt, Benetton's global production line extends directly to illegal settlements. The brand is an active client of Delta Galil Industries, an Israeli textile manufacturer with production facilities built on expropriated Palestinian land in the West Bank, violating international law. Taking root physically in the Israeli market, the brand has opened stores, notably in Tel Aviv's Dizengoff Center, and provided millions of Shekels in commercial volume to the occupation economy through local Israeli franchise partners. The company's record is not limited to funding military occupation. It operates as a global disinformation actor with provocative "communication strategies" targeting public morality. Manipulative photomontages in the "UNHATE" campaign showing the Pope kissing the Imam of Al-Azhar, or ads depicting a priest and a nun kissing, have deliberately degraded societal values and religious beliefs, marketing moral corruption under the guise of "tolerance" using shock value. Additionally, usurping the ancestral lands of the indigenous Mapuche people in Argentina's Patagonia and contracting unsafe factories involved in the Rana Plaza disaster in Bangladesh prove the brand's dark face.
