Reason for Boycott
Indesit is currently managed by Beko Europe, which is wholly owned by Arçelik and ultimately operates within the Koç Holding ecosystem. Koç Holding subsidiary Düzey has a documented strategic partnership with Israel-based Nayax covering payment devices, telemetry, customer-engagement technology and TokenFlex integration at Koç facilities and public locations in Türkiye, with potential expansion to tens of thousands of devices. Koç subsidiary Otokar has also integrated and displayed Leonardo’s HITFACT MkII 120 mm turret on its TULPAR armored platform. Separately, Ford F-350 and F-550 platforms belonging to Ford Motor Company, Ford Otosan’s global partner, have been used in armored and unmanned vehicles operated by Israeli military and security forces in Gaza and the occupied West Bank. No verified evidence was found proving that Ford Otosan’s Türkiye-manufactured vehicles were directly supplied to the Israeli military, so that connection should be described as an indirect corporate-ecosystem link rather than a proven direct shipment. Indesit also maintains an organized commercial presence in Israel through an official after-sales service and original spare-parts network, while Beko, operating under the same corporate structure, is actively sold through official Israeli import channels. BlackRock and Vanguard together hold approximately 2.76% of Koç Holding and do not exercise corporate control, so their shareholdings are not the primary basis for classification. The decisive considerations are Koç Group’s direct strategic partnership with the Israeli payment-technology company Nayax, its defense-industry relationships, its connection to the Ford military-vehicle ecosystem and the appliance group’s organized commercial operations in Israel. Taken together, these links meet BYKT’s criteria concerning systematic commercial integration with an implicated corporate network and indirect support for military and occupation-related ecosystems. Indesit should therefore be classified as Strict Boycott.
